01

Die Geschichte der Konsole

Nintendo R&D1 developed Game Boy under Gunpei Yokoi, building on the portable experience of Game & Watch. A reflective LCD and established components kept the machine practical to carry and inexpensive to produce.[1]

Tetris accompanied the North American launch, reaching players beyond the audience for action games. Pokémon Red and Green arrived in Japan in 1996, giving the aging handheld a new reason to be shared, traded and played.[1]
