Four fundamentals explain how Game Capsule treats your games, privacy and progress.
What is Game Capsule?
Game Capsule is a personal retro gaming library built around the games you bring yourself. It combines local game import, a browsable library, game information and browser-based emulation as support is added system by system.
Does Game Capsule include commercial games or ROMs?
No. Game Capsule does not provide commercial ROMs. You import compatible game files that you own or otherwise have the right to use.
Are my ROM files uploaded to Game Capsule?
No. Imported ROM files are stored locally in this browser using IndexedDB. Importing a game does not upload the ROM to Game Capsule.
Does Game Capsule save cartridge progress?
Yes, for supported Game Boy cartridges with battery-backed RAM. Cartridge save data is persisted automatically on this device and restored when the same cartridge is opened again.

Game Capsule is built for modern browsers, but compatibility can vary by browser, operating system, controller and enabled web features. A browser or device is not labeled fully verified until it has been tested against the current emulator build.
